When a person says they see their surroundings in "brush strokes, penciled lines and shades of ink", it is clear that person was not created by their education but born into their art. No other artist better fits this billing than the one from whom these thoughts and this description escaped, Ms. Trinity Pass.
Born in 1981 in Indiana, named for a tiny Hoosier town and raised in a small Michigan borough, Trinity began her art career with her focus on the lifestyles of early Americans. As a high school student, she had one of her pen and ink sketches featured in an historical documentary of Bad Axe, Michigan and presented an award winning art piece in Michigan's Patriotic Art Contest.
By the time Trinity reached college, she already embraced a firm knowledge of art history and had studied most of the major styles of art including abstract, pop art, cubism, impressionism and many more. That didn't stop her from fine tuning her work with watercolors and acrylics, though, and she excelled at drawing and inking.
Trinity's art education didn't end when her college years were over. As she'd done for most of her life, Trinity continued to devour as much about art as she could and that insatiable appetite has paid off. As a freelance artist, Trinity has been commissioned to design everything from tattoos and templates to the Independence Day triathlon T-shirts for the largest and oldest national non-profit corporation dedicated to the treatment and prevention of child abuse and neglect.
Besides working on her own portfolio, Trinity is currently creating the illustrations for a series of children's books, exclusively making the cover art for the books published by a small publishing company and is working with renowned London based art agent, Bev Phillips-Adesanya, who believes Trinity will be as popular in Europe as she's become in the United States.
On a more personal level, Trinity is as kind hearted and down to earth as she is talented. Those that meet her now, with her outgoing nature, quick wit and infectious laughter, might be surprised to learn that in her early years she was a small and very timid child. It was, in fact, not until her late teen years that Trinity began brandishing her sense of self. Public speaking competitions and a few key mentors are sure to have influenced her personal growth and new found prowess.
At Spring Arbor University where she double majored in Psychology and Sociology and played for the women's soccer team, Trinity had the perfect opportunity to discover just how resilient and determined she could be. Despite being surrounded by religious doctrine and closed minds, she began to examine her feelings, confront her fears, realize the wonder of her individuality and by May of 2001pronounced herself a proud lesbian woman.
Since then, Trinity has traveled the eastern half of the U.S., honed her craft as an avid writer of poetry and worked toward justice and equality for all peoples. More than any other attribute or accomplishment, though, Trinity has perfected the art of being herself.
